DDW acquires DuPont natural colors business
DDW, The Color House, completed its acquisition of the natural colors business from DuPont’s Nutrition & Biosciences division. The acquisition expands DDW’s global reach and adds technical and manufacturing capabilities in several new core natural colors. The deal includes two DuPont manufacturing facilities (Burton-on-Trent, UK and Santiago, Chile) and all related customer contracts.
TreeHouse Foods sells snacks division to Atlas Holdings for $90M
TreeHouse Foods Inc. has agreed to sell its snacks division to Atlas Holdings LLC for $US90 million. The TreeHouse snacks division is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of private label healthy snacks to retail customers in North America, and a leader in the nuts and trail mix categories. Included in the deal are three plants located in Robersonville, North Carolina; El Paso, Texas; and Dothan, Alabama.
Anheuser-Busch to acquire remaining stake in Babe Wine
Anheuser-Busch, through its affiliate ZX Ventures, will acquire the remaining stake in the disruptive wine company, Babe Wine, for an undisclosed amount. AB initially acquired a minority stake in the company in 2018. Since then, distribution of Babe Wine’s Rosé, Pinot Grigio and Red wines have increased dramatically. Anheuser-Busch has continued to expand its roster in the Beyond Beer arena, leveraging its core capabilities to produce and distribute a portfolio of beverages designed to keep up with evolving consumer tastes. Babe Wine falls under the beyond beer umbrella with other Anheuser-Busch brands including Drinkworks, Bon & Viv Spiked Seltzer and Cutwater Spirits.
Land O’Lakes, Royal Agrifirm Group form joint venture in China
Land O'Lakes and the Royal Agrifirm Group (Agrifirm) formed a dairy animal feed joint venture in China. The new company, Agrilakes will leverage existing market knowledge, insights, technologies and research capability from both companies to serve China-based feed customers and dairy farmers. The joint venture initially will be based in Agrifirm’s existing manufacturing plant in Tianjin, with plans to build a new dairy premix and specialty plant on the adjacent property.
McCain partners with NUGGS
McCain Foods, a leader in frozen french fries, potato specialties and appetizers, announced a new strategic partnership and lead investment in NUGGS, a New York based start-up that has developed an innovative plant-based chicken nugget alternative. The partnership combines NUGGS’ textured pea protein technology and research and development (R&D) process with McCain’s production and commercial expertise to accelerate the brand’s growth and deliver market scale.
